About Oakwood Construction
Founded in Lansing, Michigan in 1991 by Craig Moulton, Oakwood Construction was established to provide premier construction contracting services for the multi-housing industry across the United States.
Since our founding, Oakwood Construction has become widely respected for its expertise in MSHDA, HUD, USDA/Rural Development, and LIHTC projects, as well as rehabilitation of fully depreciated projects. Many of our developer clients are repeat customers who continue to rely on the services we provide them, not only in the construction process, but also very early in the vetting process of determining the viability of a potential project.
Today, Oakwood is a multi-family construction company based in Okemos, MI that continues its focus on delivering quality, well-constructed housing units to tenants, as well as bringing value to investors and developers in the housing industry.
Doug Bishop, President, has over 30 years of experience in light commercial and multi-family construction. Prior to coming aboard at Oakwood, he owned and operated a construction company with over 80 employees, specializing in multi-family, student housing, and light commercial projects throughout the state of Michigan. He also owned and operated a real estate development company which developed single and multi-family projects in west & central Michigan.
Tara Moulton, VP/Chief Financial Officer has played a critical role in the success Oakwood Construction has enjoyed. She has been on the Oakwood executive team for over 20 years. Prior to Oakwood, while employed with Plante & Moran, PLLC, she worked substantially with construction contractors and developed extensive experience in all aspects of accounting-related functions and challenges in the construction industry. She is assisted by an accounting team experienced in all accounting and reporting requirements as requested by MSHDA, HUD, USDA/Rural Development, and in all financial related demands of LIHTC projects.
Sean Lynch, Vice President of Construction, has over 30 years of experience in commercial and multi-family construction. He has specialized in working with, and for, ENR top 100 companies managing all aspects of a project from preconstruction through completion. He is focused on efficient workflow processes with predictable, consistent outcomes for both the project site as well as the administrative portion of the business. He is passionate about developing and mentoring the next generation of leadership.
